Wine Wednesday

If I’m honest, I don’t wait for Wednesday to have a drink (or 2). Though I stay away from hard liquor and beer, I do enjoy a nice cold glass of light, fruity wine. Lately, I’ve been making my own mixes at home, because why not add some juice and a little something extra? Now, this may seem weird, but if you’ve grown up around Mexican candy, you’ll know that sweet, sour, and chili powder go so well together. It’s probably the best thing ever. Add that to sour fruity wine, and man, oh man, you’ve got something mighty fine. If you like light, fruity wines, you’ll like this.

My Strawberry Lemonade Sangria – Two Ways!

Ingredients:

  • Arbor Mist Arborita Strawberry Margarita (strawberry wine)
  • Florida’s Natural Strawberry Lemonade or make your own
  • Mexican chili powder (candy)
  • Lemon wedges
  • Ice cubes

  5. Garnish with lemon wedge, if desired.

Since I like to make my life easy, I just purchase my favorites, but you could try this out with other flavors of wine and juice. Currently, I’m creating a recipe for a red wine sangria that doesn’t taste like I dunked my head into a barrel of bourbon (long story). For sure, I’ll share that recipe on here too!

Let me know what your favorite happy hour drink is, and if you’re daring to try this out!
