In almost every introduction, I describe myself as a lipstick addict, and I am very much addicted to Urban Decay Psycho. It is complete perfection, if you like a beautiful bold lipstick, that is.

When I really started getting into makeup in college, Urban Decay was my brand. In my eyes, they were the best, at least for my tastes, and after many makeup experimentations later, I still think Urban Decay is pretty great. Urban Decay Psycho ($17) is everything I love in a lipstick – cool toned red, shimmer, and a creamy comfort matte formula. While I have quite a few of the UD Revolution Lipsticks, I like that they brought out the Vice collection. Even if several shades are the same, the Vice Lipsticks are more affordable, which means more lipsticks. Yes, please.

Packaging.

Though it’s an adorable metallic type bullet, I really had a hard time getting the cap off this little beauty. I love how it looks, but the casing does feel cheaply made. Whenever I try to get into it, I get an arm workout. Still, it’s adorable, and that’s not going to stop me from buying more.

Pigmentation.

When I first swatched Urban Decay Psycho in store, I didn’t even hesitate and grabbed the last one! It’s such a stunning shade with excellent color payoff, and the shimmer is absolutely gorgeous. For a while, I’ve been looking for a shimmery lipstick that isn’t tacky, and this is it for me. Stunner.

Quality and Longevity.

Admittedly, I’m one of those people who say Urban Decay is awesome. Some people don’t think so, but I am not one of those people. In my collection, I have over 100 lipsticks from different brands, and my Urban Decay collection is lying in my everyday makeup bag ready for use. All of them.

When I applied Urban Decay Psycho to my lips, application was smooth and the formula didn’t emphasize the dry patches. Throughout the day, I ate, drank, and while there was normal wear, I was left with a stain that made my lips look more alive than they usually do. Though it’s a matte formula, I didn’t find Psycho as drying as Bad Blood, which is a deep red that I also love. If you don’t like lipsticks that stain, you won’t like Psycho at all, but if you do, have a little swatch fest and see if you like it!
