Think about it – if you had no plan, how would you know you’re getting things done? You’d have to guess, and guessing increases the probability that errors will occur. This is why routines are essential to success.

When you’re striving for world dominating success, you have very little room for careless error. Routines are essential, because it creates a sort of comfort zone for individuals, especially if you’re trying out something new.

We fall back on our routines to find our balance, and if we stumble, our routines are there to help us find our foundation again. Routines are great, because the more you stick to it, the more your actions become a habit. If you’re on a health journey, imagine the results you could get just by sticking to your routine.

Your routine doesn’t have to be extravagant or complicated, and it really just depends on your comfort level. Some find it easier to write everything down the night before, while others find comfort in planning their days during breakfast. It really is up to you to decide, and there is so much room for creative expression and customization. Bullet journals are a thing these days – I got one with grid lines, because I lost my ruler, but I hated the thing anyway. Now, I can draw lines (kind of) without a pesky ruler to get in my way. You can check out Pinterest for bullet journal or planning ideas – find me here, and let’s be Pin buddies!

My daily routine – the couch potato edition.

  • Wake up and do leg circles and crunches in bed – lazy girl workout (more on that later)
  • Clean up – brush teeth, wash face.
  • Eat breakfast.
  • Clean up.
  • Organize work station – bullet journal, laptop, cell phone, writing utensils, and snacks.
  • Write down tasks for the day and posts to be written.
  • Check off completed tasks.
  • Eat lunch.
  • Clean up.
  • Work more.
  • Take a break and make dinner.
  • Eat dinner.
  • Watch a movie, veg on the couch, turn off brain.
  • Wash up and go to bed.

*Adjust routine as needed – the best part – you can change it up whenever you want.

Seeing as I don’t have a job right now, I’m striving to make this my job. So far, it’s been challenging getting everything in order, but I’m excited for what this journey has in store for me. I’m even more excited to be back in the blog mode with my friends – I have the best support group. Follow us on Twitter and let’s all chat about anything and everything!

Essentially, the more simple a routine is, the easier it is to keep track of and remember, so start small, and keep it very simple; the most important part of a routine is the action of following it. Find your determination this year, and go after your dreams. Life is a journey, and we all play a part. We may as well have fun with it!

How do you like to keep up with your routines? I’m open to tips and suggestions!
